Business Development Manager – Monitoring

Role Overview

The Business Development Manager –Monitoring is responsible for establishing and realising sales opportunities for Monitoring Systems and associated software throughout designated territories.

They will assist in identifying, establishing and maintaining business development opportunities and support for all Deformation Monitoring products including wireless structural, geotechnical and environmental sensors, optical total station systems, GNSS monitoring systems and associated software solutions providing the highest standard of client and account management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a market leadership position for Monitoring in your territory.
  • Develop and maintain industry networks actively to leverage opportunities
  • Analyse new business opportunities
  • Contribute to setting annual sales budgets and work directly with the regional sales teams to meet or exceed these targets
  • Provide proposals as required by customers
  • Negotiate all aspects of a customer’s order within company policies
  • Provide excellent customer service and support via competent and timely technical and commercial advice
  • Monitor and provide feedback on customers, competitors’ activities, the business climate, monitoring technology advancements and market movements to identify sales trends that can enhance Aptella’s market share
  • Ensure that a current business plan is in place
  • Planning and managing of time to ensure personal and regional business plans are being executed and is being implemented
  • Create and implement proactive lead generation activities

About You:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a geospatial or geotechnical role.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in business-to-business relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Experience in sales, business development and commercial negotiations.
  • Proven time management skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Proven client and account management skills, including personal presentation and communication skills.
  • Well-developed commercial acumen.
  • Exposure to monitoring technologies at an operational level.
  • Experience in developing and marketing new product lines.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of competitive products and companies.
  • Results focussed with strong attention to detail.
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Team oriented, excellent interpersonal skills and positive outgoing personality.
  • Goal oriented, outcome focused, performance driven.
  • Ability to build and manage relationships.
