Aptella has been recognised as the leading Employer of the Year for Apprenticeships in the industry by TAFE Queensland.

Technology solutions provider Aptella is thrilled to announce that they have been recognised as the Apprentice Employer of the Year by TAFE Queensland.

This prestigious award honours Aptella’s creation of a customised National Field Apprenticeship Program that aims to grow and support talented new field technicians in the industry.

“This program reflects our dedication and commitment to nurturing talent, advancing skill development, and empowering the next generation of industry experts through impactful and meaningful learning experiences.” said Bernadette Taoro Ashin, Executive Manager People and Culture at Aptella. “If we want to continue to create the very best experiences for our customers this is a crucial part of that. By supporting and training upcoming field technicians we are investing our time and expertise back into our industry and that’s the right thing to do.” Ms Taoro Ashin added.

The unique apprenticeship program, co-created with TAFE Queensland, aims to teach targeted skills to future technicians, including high precision machine control technology on heavy earthmoving equipment. “We want to ensure our field technicians are the best of the best and they have the knowledge base to make them the most sought after in the industry. As part of the program we recruited our leading field managers and senior technicians who dedicated their time and expertise to creating and delivering these apprenticeships.” Ms Taoro Ashin said.

Aptella has six apprentices enrolled in the course, who are employed across all major cities in Australia. The training program incorporates a mix of online, face-to-face and on-site learning.

Following this award, Ms Taoro Ashin says Aptella is only further inspired to create more opportunities in this area. “We’re so honoured to have been recognised with this award. We hope to launch the second version of this programme early next year, incorporating automation as part of the training.” says Ms Taoro Ashin.

Business Manager at TAFE Queensland, Shawn O’Sullivan says it’s always beneficial to work with Aptella. “Our partnership with Aptella enables us to work closely with industry and modern technology to maintain currency and deliver the highest quality training that we can for TAFE Queensland and the employers.”

With locations throughout Australia, Southeast Asia and New Zealand, Aptella supports the civil construction, building, mining and geospatial industries with world-leading technology solutions. As emerging systems develop apace in automation, robotics, and augmented positioning for smart cities, the Aptella team will continue to work collaboratively to understand project challenges and opportunities, innovate solutions and partner with customers for the long term.
