Role Overview

As the Key Account Manager – Civil, your primary role is to effectively manage selected key accounts, source new business through key buying groups, and drive revenue growth to achieve sales, financial, and operational objectives within our civil network. You’ll play a pivotal role in promoting our solutions, building strong customer relationships, and ensuring that Aptella remains a trusted partner in the civil construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage nominated key accounts, focusing on promotion, training, pricing, tech days, and business planning.
  • Collaborate with the Aptella marketing team to support key account initiatives and drive revenue growth.
  • Set revenue goals and action plans in line with the Mid Term Growth Plan.
  • Demonstrate product lines to key accounts, coordinate training days, and drive tech day priorities with head offices.
  • Build strong relationships with head offices and customers, contributing to annual sales targets and achieving or exceeding planned gross profit.
  • Provide excellent customer service with timely technical and commercial advice.
  • Monitor market changes, customer feedback, and competitor activities.
  • Support the Civil Sales Manager VIC/TAS in developing annual revenue business plans for assigned key accounts.
  • Implement lead generation activities.
  • Contribute to monthly management reports on key account developments and revenue forecasts.
  • Maintain customer records and complete reports on CRM.
  • Liaise with the accounting department to support customer credit and collections.
  • Participate in and complete training programs.

About You:

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, team-oriented with a positive, outgoing personality.
  • Ability to build and manage relationships while displaying a high degree of professionalism.
  • Understanding of survey practices, proficiency in various enterprise systems, and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Capable of working independently, sometimes remotely, with minimal support, and always looking for ways to improve.
  • Strong new business sales experience, a strong focus on customer needs, and knowledge of surveying within a civil construction environment.
  • Solid sales management and negotiation skills, technical product aptitude, and an understanding of the application and benefits of the products.
  • A growth mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and development, and experience encouraging teams to do the same.
