Intelligent positioning solutions provider Aptella has a new office for the company’s Darwin team. The new Berrimah premises offers a full range of services to support customers in the construction, geospatial and mining sectors with laser levels, GPS, survey instruments and machine control technology.

“We look forward to welcoming customers at our new premises at 29 Miles Road, Berrimah, and helping them with their technology needs or equipment services,” said Bradd Thexton, Field and Support Manager for the Northern Territory at Aptella.

“If your laser level is due for a calibration, drop into the new office to get it serviced and we’ll shout you a coffee from the café next door,” he added.

Aptella is the exclusive Australian distributor for Topcon Positioning Systems, providing sales, rental, service and support across the range of lasers, GPS, total stations, and machine control solutions.

The company compliments the Topcon range with solutions specific to certain industries or applications. These include: Fleet Management Systems and machine guidance for mining, landfill and solar projects; survey drones for aerial mapping; monitoring platforms used on rails, tunnels, mines and buildings; and more. 

To reduce the need for support call outs and resolve technical issues quickly, Aptella developed a remote access and support platform called Tokara Link. The service enables support technicians to login to the customer’s machine system or survey tablet in the field and troubleshoot any problems, change settings or provide real time training without having to visit the site in person.

“Tokara is a really powerful tool, especially for customers working in remote areas,” Mr Thexton said. “If we can solve the problem without having to travel to site it is a huge time and cost saving, but in addition to that Tokara enables any of our technicians from Australia, New Zealand or South East Asia to help.
