Intelligent positioning solutions provider Aptella to distribute Omnidots’ innovative wireless vibration monitoring equipment throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Omnidots specialises in easy to setup, autonomous, reliable vibration monitoring systems for use in infrastructure and geophysical applications. Under the agreement, Aptella has been appointed Master Distributor for the Omnidots range.
“The Omnidots solution is unique in its capacity to deliver a fully automated, wireless, and integrated vibration monitoring platform that can be installed and setup in minutes,” said Andrew Jones, Monitoring Marketing Development Manager at Aptella.
“The Omnidots range compliments our other deformation monitoring solutions and has already received very positive feedback from customers using it for commercial construction and infrastructure projects,” he added.
Vibration monitoring equipment is important in a wide range of applications, from demolition projects to construction of tunnels, rail, building and other infrastructure where nearby residents, buildings, or other solid structures can be impacted. Bridges, heritage buildings and other structures of significance can also be monitored if they are in active seismic zones or potentially impacted by heavy traffic, rail, or nearby construction.
“Aptella is well placed to support the Omnidots solution, given the company’s dedicated monitoring team, geographic reach and core customer base across the geospatial, construction and mining markets,” said Marko Bolt, CEO of Omnidots.
The Omnidots vibration monitoring equipment comprises the SWARM vibration monitoring sensors that can be quickly and easily installed on almost any surface. The compact, durable SWARM sensors are wireless and self-levelling, transmitting vibration data to the HONEYCOMB web software platform via 3G/4G, WI-FI or Power Over Ethernet (POE) connectivity.
Honeycomb is Omnidots’ web platform for users to configure settings as well as view, analyse, and report on vibration data. Measurement settings can be added anywhere and anytime, wherever the SWARM is mounted. Measurement data can be viewed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on Honeycomb, from your computer, tablet, or smartphone.
Honeycomb displays measurement data in graphs, which can be easily turned into reports. The measurement data can also be exported to CSV and Excel overviews at the touch of a button. For users that have existing analysis software, SWARMs data can be connected to other platforms using the Omnidots Application Programming Interface (API).
